Leadership Sacramento is a program of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber Foundation that develops tomorrow's community-minded business and civic leaders. This one-year interactive program provides a behind-the-scenes look at the issues affecting the region's economy and culminates in the completion of a community project. This comprehensive CQI system operates at multiple levels - participant, program and systems - and works with young people and the community to improve outcomes in all three areas. If you're looking to make a difference in your local community, Leadership Sacramento is an excellent opportunity.
This program requires dedication and hard work, but it can be incredibly rewarding. To be successful in this program, applicants must possess certain skills, such as strong communication abilities, problem-solving capabilities, leadership qualities, and an understanding of the local community. Communication skills are essential for any successful project. Participants must be able to effectively communicate their ideas to their peers and other stakeholders. They must also be able to listen to others' ideas and provide constructive feedback.
Problem-solving abilities are also important for any project. Participants must be able to identify potential problems and come up with creative solutions. Leadership qualities are also essential for any successful project. Participants must be able to take initiative and motivate their peers. They must also be able to delegate tasks and manage their time effectively.
Finally, participants must have an understanding of the local community. They must be aware of the needs of the community and how their project can help address those needs. In order to participate in this program, applicants must live and work in all six counties in the Sacramento region - El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, or Yuba. Each class works collectively to select and complete a service project for the benefit of a non-profit organization, project, or cause. A conscious effort is made to select individuals who represent a representative sample of the community in terms of experience and occupation to build a diverse class with diverse backgrounds. Participants must be actively involved in the class's community service project, which will require additional time commitments (the scope of which depends on the project chosen by the class).
If you possess strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and an understanding of the local community, Leadership Sacramento is an excellent opportunity for you to make a difference in your local community.
